The Hebrew Bible (the Jewish order of the Old Testament) is divided into three main areas: the Law (Torah), the Prophets (Nevi’im), and the Writings (Ketuvim). The three Hebrew words combine make up the word TaNaKh. The Hebrew Bible is also referred to as the Mikra. The Prophets and the Writings have subdivisions as well (note: while the final five books of the Ketuvim do not have a formal grouping, they are sometimes grouped as History, and are grouped this way here).
For a further overview on the topic of the order of biblical books, read the article Why Are the Books of the Bible in the Order They’re In? by Dr. Gregory Goswell.
